This document explains how to log in to the Qaptly platform.

Access Path

  • URL: /auth/login
  • Legacy path /login will automatically redirect to /auth/login

Login Methods

Suitable for general users, this is the fastest login method. Steps:
  1. Navigate to the login page
  2. Click the “Continue with Google” button
  3. Select the account you want to use in the Google account selection window
  4. Automatically log in to the system after authorization
Notes:
  • If using Google login for the first time, the system will automatically create an account
  • New users will enter the onboarding process after login

Method 2: Account-Password Login (Enterprise Users)

Suitable for enterprise users with organization-provided accounts. Steps:
  1. Navigate to the login page
  2. In the form below the separator, enter:
    • Username: Organization-provided account (not Email)
    • Password: Account password
  3. Click the “Sign In” button
Common Issues:
  • If you enter an Email format username, you will receive a prompt: “Please use username instead of Email to log in”
  • If you forgot your password, click the “Forgot Password?” link below the form

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

If 2FA is enabled on your account, additional verification is required during login:
  1. After entering the correct username and password
  2. The system will display a 2FA verification dialog
  3. Open your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator)
  4. Enter the 6-digit verification code
  5. Click “Verify” to complete verification
Alternative:
  • If you cannot use the authenticator, click “Use Recovery Code” to log in with a recovery code
  • Recovery codes are single-use and become invalid after use
For detailed 2FA setup instructions, see Two-Factor Authentication

Post-Login Flow

New Users

  • First-time login will enter the Onboarding process
  • System features can only be used after completing onboarding

Existing Users

  • Redirected directly to the main feature page (default is Test Rounds list /test-rounds)
  • If there’s a specified return path (such as being redirected to login from another page), you’ll return to the original page

Language Switching

The login page supports language switching:
  • Via URL parameter: /auth/login?locale=zh-TW or /auth/login?locale=en
  • The selected language is saved to browser localStorage

Error Handling

Security Tips

  1. Do not save login information on public computers
  2. Enabling two-factor authentication is recommended to enhance account security
  3. Change passwords regularly (enterprise accounts)
  4. If abnormal login activity is detected, change password immediately
